Infinite Black 2
In new VIERA models, contrast in brightly lit locations has been significantly improved. Enhancements to the panel and cells help reproduce images with smooth, natural gradation and deep, rich blacks even when viewed in bright surroundings. In movies, the true, deep blacks faithfully convey the intent of the filmmakers, adding power and realism to the viewing experience.

Full-time 1080 Moving Picture Resolution
VIERA plasma TVs have 1,080 lines of moving-picture resolution. Newly developed phosphors with minimal afterimages and a new motion compensating technology have made it possible to render faster-moving images with greater sharpness. This far surpasses the APDC moving-picture resolution measurement standard of 5 seconds by providing a moving-picture resolution of 1,080 lines at the 1.5-second level. And it shows the inherently clear motion of VIERA TVs in both 2D and 3D images.
3D 24p Cinema Smoother
VIERA incorporates technology that analyzes picture information in both the preceding and succeeding frames, and creates a precise supplementary frame between them. This suppresses the jerky effect seen in movies so that playback is smooth and natural-looking. The distinctive tonal qualities and atmosphere of the movie are preserved, and you enjoy extremely lifelike 3D images.

VIERA remote is a TV remote controller app for select Panasonic VIERA HDTVs that uses your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad (of iOS 4.2 or later) to control TV channel selection, input selection, and volume control. Included features are gesture control, a keyboard user Interface, and a power off button.
Long Panel Life, Up to 100,000 Hours
One important way consumers can protect the environment is by choosing high-quality products and taking care of them so they last for a long time. A high-quality VIERA HDTV can help. Thanks to a newly designed phosphor process and rear panel process, our plasma panels last for up to 100,000 hours before the brightness decreases by half. That’s more than 30 years of viewing 8 hours a day.
Environment-Friendly Panel
Mercury and Lead Free Plasma Display Panel Panasonic is committed to making our products more friendly to the environment. In line with this commitment, all VIERA plasma display panels are free of both lead and mercury. This reduces impact on the environment years down the road when the TV is recycled or retired from use.

AirGo Outdoor Sound Station With Apple AirPort Express Dock Review

Russound may not be a company on the tip of your tongue, but they're actually quite the player in the multi-room audio market and the weather resistant speaker is perfectly happy to sit outside in the rain and blast your tunes, but since it's still tethered to an AC outlet for power, you'll probably want to bring it inside before the floodwaters begin to rise. AirGo Outdoor Sound Station will come with a built-in AirPort Express Dock and given it would have to also power the AirPort Express, battery life probably wouldn't be amazing. Setup is as easy as ensuring the AirPort is configured. If connected to your home's wireless network the AirGo Outdoor Sound Station will also serve as a Wi-Fi repeater, expanding your network outside your home and the speaker is available now for $400, but to be actually useful as an AirPlay accessory you're going to have to factor in the cost of a $100 AirPort Express as well.

AirGo Outdoor Sound Station

Russound, a leader in the multiroom audio market introduced the AirGo Outdoor Sound Station. AirGo is the first portable, weather-resistant, amplified speaker dock for use with Apple AirPort Express. AirGo can be placed outside on a deck, on a lawn, in the driveway or anywhere a listener wants to hear great sounding music. With the AirPort Express and AirPlay, the music from an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac or PC fills the air with full range sound quality. In addition, users can stream music from iTunes, Pandora or any other music service. Russound's AirGo Outdoor is weather resistant. Comments Russound CEO Charlie Porritt: "If you're dancing in the yard and the rain begins to fall, break out the Slip-'N-Slide and continue to rock on." Installation and setup is simple. Users only need to configure the AirPort express and install it into the AirGo Outdoor's protective pocket before plugging it into an outlet and enjoying great sounding music. The internal stereo speaker and specially designed power amplifier deliver a wide, detailed soundstage that will impress in any setting - from patios and decks to dorm rooms and offices. In addition to providing high performance audio outdoors, AirGo offers the added advantage of serving as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot, thanks to the Apple AirPort Express and its ability to serve as a Wi-Fi repeater. "The concept of portable, streaming audio takes a quantum leap forward with AirGo," adds Porritt. The AirGo Outdoor Sound Station measures 12.6" (H) x 12.9" (W) x 10.2" (D), and weighs 16.25 lbs. Power is supplied by the AC cord, conveniently stored for easy access onboard the AirGo. The AirGo Outdoor Sound Station is UL Certified for use in outdoor environments. The AirGo Outdoor Sound Station is now shipping with a suggested retail price of $399. It is available through Amazon, Best Buy.com, and Crutchfield, as well as Russound's traditional custom installation specialists. To learn more about AirGo Outdoor Sound Station, please visit AirGo.russound.com.

Features:

  • Stream music from any AirPlay compatible
  • device via an Apple AirPort Express
  • Works with other audio sources
  • Hotspot flexibility
  • Incredible sound in the great outdoors

Verzo Kinzo Android 2.2 Froyo Smartphone Review

Verzo launches Kinzo Android smartphone and Kinzo is offered in the custom skinned format, but interestingly uses the blanked out Froyo Android version OS to run the hardware. he device is a 12.3mm thick handset that packs in a 4.3-inch screen with WVGA resolution and the hardware inside is rather mundane with a 1GHz TI OMAP 3630 processor, 512MB of RAM, and a 5MP camera with LED flash. he radio inside makes the phone work with the AT&T network and it also has quad band GSM support. The phone comes with accessories to like a leather case, headphones, and a chair dock with charger and this Android smartphone will cost you $459.
Verzo Kinzo Android 2.2 Froyo Smartphone

Convinced that the world needs a change from time to time and that the smaller ones who tend to be perceived as weak and irrelevant sometimes need to stand up against the big, the VERZO is coming to the market with its first smartphone called Kinzo. Since the very beginning we wanted to create a phone that would be open to its owners at least as much as the Google Android OS is open to its community. Based on this open source software we wanted to build a phone that would not be the slimmest, the best in performance or the most expensive, but to create a phone that would go its own way and never leave it. This way is based on differentiation from the great and seemingly untouchable brands by original design and most of all by active communication with clients. The Kinzo is coming to the market with a carefully selected mix of hardware, software, accessories and price, all of which gives you enough space to affect its future development. n the top of the pyramid is an American company called VERZO TECHNOLOGY LLC. This is the founding company for VERZO Technology s.r.o. – a company based in Prague, Czech Republic. If therefore we say that the VERZO project is a Czech-American one, it is probably the best name for it. The VERZO Technology s.r.o company supervised the development of the design of the phone and the VERZO GUI, and is currently managing the production process and forming the distribution strategy. The VERZO project involved top designers, developers, graphic designers and managers, who have utilised their long experience in their respective fields and brought dynamics and courage to the project.

Verzo Kinzo Froyo Smartphone Back View

Kinzo is not a smartphone that would like to look down on others, boast about how many cores its processor has, how many megapixels the cameras have, how the display is the brightest with the best resolution and so on. The hardware was chosen so it does not limit its users in any aspect, but also not to promise things that cannot be delivered. VERZO belongs more to the company of smartphones like: Sony Ericsson Xperia ARC, HTC Desire HD, Motorola Milestone, LG Optimus 2X, Nexus One, HTC Desire S, etc. In comparison with these, VERZO Kinzo can offer mostly matching parameters for the same or a slightly lower price with an extremely rich offering of accessories, free of charge. The accessories include a luxurious genuine leather case made in the EU, the smallest USB charger you have ever seen, a luxurious car charger from polished steel, quality headphones, an 8GB Micro SD card and a car holder for your Kinzo. With every new Kinzo you will also be given an offline Navigation app from Sygic with the maps of the whole EU or USA (based on your location). And this is still not all. Every new Kinzo comes with a stylish car holder. VERZO Kinzo is coming to the European market with the price of 420 EUR and for the customers in the USA the price is set to 459 USD. The sales start on the 11th of November 2011 via the official VERZO online store accessible at www.verzo.com. The list of our partners will be constantly updated and available at www.verzo.com. VERZO is shipping the Kinzo worldwide for free. You will not pay a single dollar or euro more. In the VERZO community is where one can meet all the other owners of VERZO devices, who decide to actively participate on the future of the brand. VERZO community starts with the TellME application, which is activated with the registration of a user and the Kinzo smartphone on the official website www.verzo.com, from where it can be downloaded to the phone itself. This application provides the basic means of communication between the users and the VERZO brand. VERZO GUI represents our way of thinking about the world of smartphones and most of all our idea about the perfect look of a Google Android OS. VERZO GUI starts with the model Kinzo in its basic layout – with a modified main screen and the status icons, with its own weather widget, contacts visualization, background and some other features. The development of the VERZO GUI will continue in the future, while taking into account the desires of the users. It is similar or even better than other comparable smartphones on the market. Kinzo has a 1530 mAh battery, which ensures that the Kinzo will be up and running for over a day while used under regular conditions. If used intensively for phone calls, e- mails and web browsing, the Kinzo will have to be charged on a daily basis, however, it will always be up and running at least from dusk till dawn.

Logitech Alert HD Security System With Dropbox Cloud Based Storage Review

Logitech announced that its security surveillance system has been updated to make it easier for you access your recorded videos, Logitech Alert has support for Dropbox and this means that videos recorded with your Logitech Alert camera will be stored on your camera, on your computer, and can be stored in the cloud via Dropbox as well, which is a great news for Logitech Alert HD digital video security system users. Packages are available and come with 2GB of storage for free, 50GB for $10 per month or 100GB for $20 per month. Logitech isn't exactly giving away the service, but when you consider that a bare-bones Alert system costs $300, those virtual add-ons sound a bit more reasonable and if you're an Alert owner and want to take advantage of the new integration, the update's available to download now.

Logitech Alert HD With Dropbox

Logitech Alert HD digital video security system helps you watch over the people and you can now opt to have secure remote storage for your Logitech Alert videos. With Dropbox in addition to existing Logitech Alert on-camera video storage and PC video backup, you now have an additional storage option that gives you even more piece of mind. Whether at home or on the road, Dropbox's automatic backup and password protection helps ensure that the Logitech Alert HD videos backed up to your PC are automatically and safely uploaded to the cloud. Dropbox uses the same security methods as banks for data transfer and storage – adding that additional layer of data protection – so you can be confident saved videos will remain protected and private. Logitech Alert users can access a bevy of Dropbox storage packages – ranging from an initial free service for up to 2 GBs to an upgraded 50 GB service for $9.99 per month and 100 GBs for $19.99 per month. Once you sign up for an account and download Dropbox, simply configure your storage settings within Logitech Alert Commander and the Dropbox software. As long as both Dropbox and Logitech Alert Commander are running, Logitech Alert footage will automatically sync with your Dropbox account transferring and storing security video files.

Features:

  • Cloud-based storage

You’ll enjoy the added peace of mind that comes with knowing that you can easily use Dropbox, a cloud-based service to upload and store your security videos.

  • Password-protected

Dropbox offers the same security methods as banks, so you can be confident your security videos are uploaded and stored securely.

  • A plan for all

You can choose the storage plan that’s right for you—from free (2 GBs) to a few dollars a month (up to 100 GBs).

  • Additional file backup

You can also back up additional computer files (such as Word®, Excel® or PowerPoint®) easily.

  • How it works

Once you download the Dropbox client and sign up for an account, you need to update your storage settings within Logitech Alert Commander software. (For a complete description of how to set up Dropbox and adjust the settings on your Logitech Alert Commander Software, please click here.)

Canon GL2 MiniDV w/20x Optical Zoom Digital Video Camcorder Review

The Canon GL2 (like its predecessor, the GL1, and its big brother, the XL1) is helping to blur the line between consumer and professional video equipment. This camcorder borrows most of those cameras' professional-quality components and puts them into a more compact, affordable camera. Though it's small enough to carry around and doesn't cost much more than a top-of-the-line consumer camcorder, the GL2 produces such high-quality results that it could be used as a broadcast video camera. This is Amazon.com's Product Review

Canon GL2 MiniDV 20x Optical Zoom Digital Camcorder

  • Record for up to 65 minutes on one battery charge
  • A beam-splitting prism separates light passing through the lens into individual color components and each is sent to its own CCD.

  • Media Type: Mini DV
  • Optical zoom: 20 x
  • Display Size: 2.500000 inches
  • Optical Sensor Resolution: 410000 Pixels
  • Optical Sensor Technology: CCD
  • Weight: 10.00 pounds
  • Product Dimensions: 12 x 5.5 x 5 inches ; 2.8 pounds

The 3 CCD System
The GL2 maximizes the capability of the DV format by using a 3 CCD (charge-coupled device) system with a separate CCD for each primary color (red, green, blue). A beam-splitting prism separates light passing through the lens into individual color components and each is sent to its own CCD. Compared to a single CCD, the 3 CCD system achieves outstanding detail with highly accurate color reproduction suitable for the demands of high-end video production - wide dynamic range, low color noise, high-contrast detail, natural color resolution and low-aliasing. The 3 CCD system also makes advanced Pixel Shift (for increased image quality) and Low Light Recording (for increased flexibility) possible.
Professional L-Series Fluorite Lens
Canon has satisfied the demands of experienced image makers for years through the power, design and quality of 35mm and broadcast TV lenses. Canon's Professional L-Series lenses utilize Fluorite, a material which provides outstanding resolution, contrast, and color reproduction- especially in lightweight, high-magnification lenses. Incorporated into the lens on the GL2, Fluorite delivers the ultimate in clarity and image quality. The Fluorite element inside the lens defeats color aberration -- the effect when the components of light stray from one another within a lens, causing a reduction in sharpness, contrast and color. The Fluorite lens precisely controls components of light providing an excellent balance of these three critical ingredients of picture quality. This is unobtainable with conventional optical glass.
To further improve image detail, Canon has intentionally shifted the green CCD (which contains 60 percent of the picture detail) half a pixel horizontally and vertically. This shift allows more accurate interpolation, resulting in an image that Canon claims rivals those from cameras with 410,000-pixel CCDs. Each pixel is 72 square microns, which is about 1.5 times the size as those in competing camcorders. This increased size increases light sensitivity, allowing you to shoot in low-light situations. All this results in outstanding detail, with highly accurate color reproduction suitable for the demands of high-end video production. The GL2 also incorporates a 20x Professional L-Series fluorite optical zoom lens, which is equivalent to 39.5-790mm, as well as a 100x digital zoom.
Audio
The GL2's omni-directional microphone is designed to deliver realistic stereo sound. Using the GL2's advanced accessory shoe expands your audio options. Audio can be recorded in 16-bit mode on two channels on one track. Alternatively, audio can be record in 12-bit mode, where the audio track is divided into two, and two channels of audio are recorded onto one track, with the other left over for audio dubbing.
Optical Image Stabilizer
Canon's superb optical stabilization system corrects camera shake instantly so even hand held shots, at full telephoto, and shots taken from a moving car, are smooth and steady. And since it is optical, there is no loss of image quality inevitable with electronic image stabilizers. It perfectly complements the high picture quality of the DV format.
Digital Stills
You can turn your GL2 into a still camera by switching to 1.7-megapixel photo mode and capturing high-resolution still images onto the camcorder's MultiMedia/Secure Digital card. (One 8 MB Secure Digital card is included with the GL2.) The full-frame images are free from time-lag blur. A six-blade circular iris, as found on Canon's top-of-the-line XL1 and XL1S models, is used for professional exposure control, helping to deliver stunning video and still photos.
Inputs and Outputs
The GL2 comes with the standard DV IEEE 1394 port (also known as FireWire) for a super-fast, lossless connection to a PC or other DV machines. You can also connect to your PC via a USB connection to download still photos. The GL2 is designed to handle two types of analog input and output: using audio/video cables (composite) or S-video. Both connections are on the camera back.
More Features
  • Three shooting modes: normal movie mode, digital photo mode, and the cinema-like frame movie mode.
  • The Custom Key function lets you create and save your own custom settings so your common shooting modes can be readily duplicated.
  • Digital effects are offered for a greater imaging variety, including fader, sepia, strobe motion, and black and white.
  • With the Interval Timer function, you can record for a selected time with a selected interval--convenient for nature observations such as flowers or sunsets.
MiniDV Format
The Canon GL2 digital video camcorder uses the standard MiniDV cassette, producing the highest quality video possible from nonbroadcast equipment. The MiniDV format standard delivers more than 500 lines of horizontal resolution. And, because it records both video and audio as digital data, this information can be transferred--without any loss of picture or audio quality--to a computer for editing, then transferred back to DV tape, without a reduction in either picture or audio quality.
Canon GL2 MiniDV Digital Camcorder

From Digital Living Today

Upon its introduction, the Canon XL-1 immediately established itself as the standard-bearer of the digital video revolution. The good news is that now Canon has introduced a line of lower-priced consumer cameras that incorporate many of the innovations developed for the XL-1 at a significantly reduced price. Introducing the GL2: a 3 CCD camera that is sure to produce footage with a crisp picture, accurate color, and a wide dynamic range. Utilizing a broadcast TV technology called Pixel Shift, the GL2 can generate images of a quality comparable to 680,000 pixel CCDs. Add to this an L-Series Fluorite Lens, an Optical Image Stabilizer to dampen shakes and jitters, a Precision Circular Iris, fine tunable picture and color controls, 16-bit stereo sound recording capabilities, and SMPTE time code and you've got a camera good enough to shoot a DV feature film, yet affordable enough to have as a quality home camcorder.
Canon Digital Camcorder

From the Manufacturer

The GL2 is a 3 CCD Digital Video Camcorder that incorporates Canon's precision optics, superior digital processing, and a sleek innovative design. Its advanced feature set allows users to handle even the most challenging tasks with confidence. Offering the highest level of control, the camera fully complements the user's vision and passion for excellence. The GL2 boasts a 20x Professional L-Series Fluorite optical zoom lens that transforms distant subjects into dramatic close-ups with outstanding resolution, contrast and color reproduction. The digital zoom is capable of extending up to 100x, providing sharp detail and maximizing lens quality. Utilizing Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer System, camera shake is instantly corrected so even hand-held shots, at full telephoto, and shots taken on the move are smooth and steady. The GL2 has three shooting modes; Normal Movie Mode, Frame Movie Mode, and Digital Photo Mode which captures stunning 1.7 megapixel, images. 3 CCD
The Canon GL2 has three CCDs, delivering outstanding picture quality, highly accurate color reproduction and a wide dynamic range with virtually no color noise. On top of that, Canon has improved a broadcast technology to create a new form of Pixel Shift, producing greater picture quality than that of camcorders using CCDs with almost twice the number of pixels.
Lens and Optical Image Stabilization
The GL2 gives you the ability to take your videos to new levels of performance, whether you're a video professional or simply a highly discerning hobbyist. Your exploration of this remarkable camcorder should start with its lens: The GL2 is equipped with the highly acclaimed Canon Professional L-Series (luxury) Fluorite Lens. To further enhance your videos, there's an Optical Image Stabilizer to correct camera shake, plus there's a Precision Circular Iris and ND Filter for total control of the picture.
Shooting Modes and Aspect Ratios
The GL2 has three shooting modes: Normal Movie Mode, Digital Photo Mode, and the cinema-like Frame Movie Mode popularized by Canon's leading edge XL1 and XL1S. The GL2 also offers both the standard 4:3 aspect ratio and 16:9 wide screen TV aspect ratio.
Exposure Modes
The GL2 offers both the versatility to meet all exposure challenges and ease of use when you're happy to let the camera make all the choices. Amazingly sophisticated circuitry and computer algorithms analyze the light coming through the lens to deliver proper exposure automatically under almost any lighting condition. You also can easily adjust the exposure system in any one of several creative ways to meet specific needs. By turning the easily accessible Program Dial to select one of seven exposure modes, you control how you want the video to look.
Shooting Enhancements
The Canon GL2 offers many on-camera enhancements that help avoid common shooting errors and make capturing high-quality footage trouble-free. The shooting enhancements also include basic conventional features that are commonly found on broadcast camcorders.
Picture Adjustments
Attaining the best picture possible is the essence of filmmaking, photography, videography and Canon. The GL2 automates and also allows manual control of the essential ingredients that go into capturing great images.
Audio Adjustments
The GL2's omnidirectional microphone is designed to deliver great quality sound: realistic, life-like, and in stereo. Using the GL2's Advanced Accessory Shoe expands your audio options.
Also consider that you have sound options to meet both your recording and editing needs. One option gives you two channels for recording sound and two channels for adding sound at the editing stage.
Audio and Video Inputs and Outputs
The GL2 is designed to handle two types of analog input and output: using audio/video cables (composite) or S-video. Both connections are on the camera back.
Custom Keys and Presets
One Custom Key
The GL2 offers a Custom Key (one setting for camera mode and one for VCR mode). This lets you create and save your own custom settings so your common shooting modes can be readily duplicated. Select options from either the Camera Menu or the VCR Menu and create a customized setting for each.
Custom Preset Key
In addition to creating a custom setting for camera and VCR mode via the custom key, you also can establish one preset registration for the following camera features: camera sharpness, color gain, setup level, and color phase.
Camera Sharpness
Change the degree of sharpness in the picture. There are 13 steps to choose from.
Camera Color
Shift the color towards red or green. There are 13 steps to choose from.
MultiMediaCard and SD Memory Card compatible
For the storage of digital still images captured by the GL2, you can use either MultiMediaCards or SD memory cards in the GL2. An 8MB SD Card comes with the camcorder, storing up to 17 fine quality still pictures or 32 standard quality images.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Studio an Online Entertainment Platform Review

Sony Ericsson has launched the Xperia Studio online entertainment platform, which is designed to enable artists and collaborators to create and share their content. The Sony Ericsson's Xperia Studio project invites creative thinkers, artists and intellectuals to use Xperia handsets to remake reality and the project aims to blur the boundaries between entertainment, technology and communications. Sony Ericsson also uses six Xperia Neos to capture a 360-degree bike ride and landscape photographer Joergen Geerds was asked to compose a unique 360-degree video uing a 3D printer, he developed a custom mount to hold six Xperia Neo phones in a ring that was welded to a mountain bike and Geerds had to convert every one of the several hundred thousand frames into JPEGs, merge them as stills and then reconvert the whole thing back into video. Sony Ericsson focuses on its values and its innovator’s image and this projects have been developed from surfers, scientists, artists and more from the likes of New York, Denmark and Australia.

Sony Ericsson launched Xperia Studio, an online entertainment platform for artists and collaborators to create and share their most innovative content. The initiative reflects Sony Ericsson's ongoing commitment to engage with consumers through high-quality entertaining content to inspire them to explore their Xperia phones in new ways. The Sony Ericsson's Xperia Studio invites creative thinkers, artists and intellectuals from collaborative artists in Denmark to astrophysicists in New York to take the range of Xperia handsets to their absolute limits and ultimately 'remake reality'. Content on the platform will be updated at regular intervals from the growing pool of contributors. The first phase of the project has seen collaborators from around the world use Xperia handsets to create content in unconventional and interesting ways – a flame-thrower camera flash, a view of the universe through the naked eye, capturing the perfect wave, creating a song from the ambient sounds of Paris and most recently capturing the extreme tricks preformed by a BMX crew in Brooklyn. Each project has been video-documented and can be viewed on the Xperia Studio platform. The project underlines Sony Ericsson's heritage as an innovator that continually strives to blur the boundaries between entertainment, technology and communications. The first round of collaborators involved in the Xperia Studio project includes:

  • Illutron, a collaborative interactive art studio in Copenhagen
  • Dr. Joshua Peek, a Hubble Fellow and astrophysicist at Columbia University, NYC
  • Ed Sloane, a lifelong surfer and innovative surf photographer from Victoria, Australia
  • Annabel Linquist – an artist and musician from New York
  • Torey Kish – an extreme sports enthusiast from Brooklyn

Videos:

Go Wide Or Go Home: Joergen Geerds used Xperia neos to record Mark Sevenoff’s ride down Slickrock Trail in 360 degrees. You can use your keyboard to watch every angle of it.Watch the 360 video now

Scanned: Torey Kish rides with "Act Like You Know," a BMX crew known for their web videos, riding trailers, and interviews. But now they’re showing off in a whole new way.

The Invisible Universe: What color is the night sky? Black? Sure, to the untrained eye. But with Xperia arc and Dr. Peek’s latest app, you can view the heavens in all their invisible glory: X-rays, gamma rays, far infrared, and more.

A Boatload of Inventors: It’s not the set-up for a joke — Illutron’s Collaborative Interactive Art Studio is literally on a boat. Which is where they hosted a three-day Xperia Studio Hack-A-Thon for code crackers of all levels. With flamethrowers.

Patch A Signal: The sampled micro-beats made from everyday sounds arranged by Bel Linquist into an interactive music video. Enjoy this love song backed by the sounds of the City of Lights.
